Look at art by Andy Warhol (such as "Red Elvis"). Warhol is one of the most famous Pop artists! Pop art is short for "popular" and shows very popular items and people in the art. Warhol started loving art in his home outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He left for New York City and found a job making magazine ads. Warhol used these popular products in his art later. He liked to repeat the image, sometimes changing the colors he used, often on silk-screened prints. Here’s a fun way to get multiple designs that is a lot like printmaking.

Fold a paper in half in each direction, so you get four equal rectangles when you unfold it. Use Crayola® Erasable Colored Pencils to sketch a popular image or symbol in one of the rectangles.

Put this paper on top of the Crayola Color Explosion Paper, lined up with a corner. Trace over your lines, pressing very hard, to leave a slight indentation on the black paper. Repeat this in all four corners, using a different colored pencil each time so you can tell exactly what you traced.
