Personalize your party with pretty cupcake place card holders that double as favors for your guests. Fill the cups with treats for a sweet start to your party!
1.
Make your card holders at least a week before your party! You’ll decorate one Crayola Air-Dry Clay cupcake for each guest. Use a recycled plastic container with a lid for each one. Yogurt containers make small cupcakes and cottage cheese containers make really big ones.
2.
Put on a painting shirt. On a plastic placemat or similar washable surface, roll a big piece of clay into a flat rectangle. Roll it wider than your container is tall and long enough to fit all the way around. Keep the clay thick enough to hold its shape.
3.
Roll your container across the slab, pushing just hard enough to make lines. Push the bottom of the container into another area of the slab. These are the sides and bottom of your cupcake. Cut out the shapes with a craft stick and mold them gently around your container. Wet your finger and dampen seams to help them stay together. Turn the container upside down to push the bottom in place. If you want, use a craft stick to press patterns into the sides. Gently remove clay from the container.

Use the same method to make the "icing" top. Make a slab, push the lid into the slab, remove and cut out with a craft stick. Add swirls and details, either cutting into the clay or building it up with small balls and rolls. Push the long edge of a craft s
5.
Place your cupcake top and bottom upside down on a paper plate to air-dry. Turn them over after a day or two so they can dry on the inside, too. Pieces may need 3 days to thoroughly dry.
6.
Have fun using Crayola Squeezables™ 3-D Paint to decorate your cupcakes. Cover both the "icing" top and the "cake" with imaginative colors and designs. Air-dry the paint overnight.
7.
With Crayola Scissors, cut out construction paper name cards for each guest. Write their names with Crayola Fine Line Markers. Put name cards in the grooves on top. Fill your cupcakes with favors, top with lids and name cards, and you’re ready to party!
