Smiles and Happy Hats top off a festive mood. Celebrate with color and curls straight from The Crayola® Factory™!
1.
Homemade hats are a great way to celebrate I Want You to Be Happy Day, your birthday, or any joyous occasion. Make big ones to wear, and miniature ones for invitations and decorations!
2.
Start your cone-shaped hat by decorating a large piece of construction paper with Crayola® gel markers. What designs do you think are cool? Or what's the party theme? Is someone graduating? Is it a new year?
3.
Roll the paper into a cone that fits on your head. Hold the hat in shape with paper clips, rubber bands, or spring clothespins. Put Crayola School Glue under the overlapping edges and smooth down. Dry.
4.
Trim the bottom of your hat so it is even with Crayola Scissors.
5.
Accessorize your hat however you like. Decorate it with mini-scrunchies of colorful tissue paper or design construction-paper cutouts. Cut long paper fringe and roll it around a crayon to curl. Make cascades of streamers with ribbon. Glue on your accessories. Dry. Time to celebrate!
